Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University (SRM) University Details
SRM University is one among the top ranked universities in India. More than 20,000 students are studying here under the assistance of 1,500 faculty members. University offers wide range of UG, PG and doctoral programs in the areas of Engineering, Management, Medicine and Health Sciences and Humanities.
National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and many other accrediting authorities credited the university with grade which is equivalent to five stars.
SRM University Establishment :
In 1968 the Chancellor of SRM University Mr. T.R.Pachamuthu with an intention to offer top class education by establishing an institute. He started a school named ‘Florence Nightingale Primary School’-in Chennai.
In 1985 the SRM Engineering College was founded in Karrankulathur, near Chennai. Very soon it extended its roots and grew into numerous SRM learning centers by offering various courses.
The Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University School of Dentistry was granted with deemed university status by the Ministry of human resources, India in the year 2002. In the same year the Engineering, medical and para-medical colleges group were considered under the ambit of SRM Deemed University. Later in the year 2003 and 2004 the other courses started.
In the year 2006 SRM University attained that status of full-fledged university as per the rules of the Union Grants Commission.
Enhanced approach in designing syllabus, international teaching methods take SRM University a way ahead of the rest of the colleges in India.
Campus Information :
There are 4 SRM Campuses in India where 3 located in Chennai and other located in Country Capital. Campuses were located in Kattankulathur (Chennai), Ramapuram (Chennai), Vadapalani Campus (Chennai), Modi Nagar (New Delhi).
Almost all the National Banks offer on the spot sanction of educational loans at the time of counseling. University also offers scholarships for meritorious students with the intention of encouraging students in terms of academics.
Scholarship Details :
50% Fee Wavier will be granted for students who scored 90% or above in CBSE and 95% IN State Board examinations. Founder’s scholarship-full wavier will be offered on tuition, books, hostels and mess. A stipend of Rs.1, 000 will be credited per month to top state, SRMEEE, JEE and AIEEE Rankers, sports persons and economically disdained students.

Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University guarantees 100% placement of registered students according to its track record. As of now US$200,000 is the highest package offered by a US Based company to its student and NANO Researcher Mr. Shivaraman at California, USA.
